If you are looking for a way to keep up with the latest news, tips and techniques related to genealogy and family history research, then you need to consider subscribing to a few genealogy magazines. Each magazine has its strengths and some even share columnists (although some articles are “ghost” written by the same authors).
The following is a quick review of the most popular genealogy publications.

Ancestry Magazine
Beginners and advanced historians alike will benefit from this publication. It is packed with expert guidance, color photos and illustrations, regular columnists, case studies, reviews of books, products and software and much more.

Family Tree Magazine
This easy to read periodical is both fun and broad-reaching. It covers topics such as ethnic heritage, family reunion tips, scrapbooking pointers and even planning a historical vacation. Of course the standard genealogy research articles are included as well. There is also a Family Tree Magazine in the UK which is a separate entity from the US magazine.

Everton’s Genealogical Helper
This magazine has the look and feel of a periodical from the early part of the 1900′s. Don’t let the old-fashioned look fool you into thinking that it doesn’t contain any new information! This publication is packed with excellent genealogy articles as well as news, websites, tips, reviews and queries. Genealogists have been subscribing and reading this magazine since its first publication back in 1947! It is still a valuable resource for genealogists today!

Family Chronicle
This excellent family history periodical is published once every two months. The topics range in interest from beginners to advanced genealogists. This is a full-color magazine with a wide range of topics written by genealogy enthusiasts – for genealogy enthusiasts.

Internet Genealogy
This bimonthly periodical is produced by the same publishers of Family Chronicle. The focus of this magazine is helping readers conduct family history research using online tools and resources (mostly in the US market). They review new websites and genealogy databases and cover a wide range of topics from beginner to advanced. Articles are written by a large collection of story contributors, researches and authors.
As you can see there are several genealogy magazines for you to choose from. Each of them are great resources for genealogists ranging from complete beginner to experienced veteran. Now is the time to subscribe to a few magazines to keep you reading and learning about family history research – even when you are not online!
